Position Objective The Unit Manager Supply Chain is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of all plant logistics for a vehicle manufacturing facility with an annual output of approximately 100,000 units. This includes strategic and operational leadership of intralogistics, inbound and outbound logistics, and the development and implementation of future‑oriented logistics concepts. The role includes direct leadership of approximately 300 employees incl. contractors. Key Responsibilities Overall Responsibility for Plant Logistics Manage and optimize all logistics processes within the plant (shipping planning, dispatch, plant logistics, material warehousing, vehicle dispatch). Ensure smooth material flow from inbound delivery to outbound vehicle shipment. Accountable for meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets. Strategic Supply Chain Development Develop and implement short‑, medium‑, and long‑term initiatives for cost reduction, flexibility, and digitalization of the supply chain. Design and implement forward‑looking logistics concepts (e.g., sustainable transport solutions, circular economy). Stakeholder and Interface Management Close collaboration with production, purchasing, IT, external service providers, and suppliers. Represent logistics interests in internal and external committees and to top management. Responsible for preparing management presentations and executive summaries. Quality and Risk Management Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and internal company requirements (e.g., inventory management). Identify and manage risks along the supply chain. Drive continuous process improvement through active issue and cost driver management. Requirements Education: Completed university degree (business administration, industrial engineering, or similar). Professional Experience: More than 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally in the automotive industry. Leadership Experience: Several years of experience in leading large teams. Expertise: Profound knowledge of production and material flow processes, project management, digitalization, and lean management. German and English: Excellent skills, both written and spoken. French and Italian: Beneficial but not mandatory. Strong analytical skills. Willingness to innovate. Intercultural competence.
