As Country Medical Director (CMD), you represent Regeneron in Germany across all Medical Affairs and Clinical Development activities. You serve as the primary medical and scientific point of contact in‑country, responsible for shaping the national medical strategy and ensuring alignment with global objectives. Working within a highly collaborative cross‑functional matrix, you drive medical excellence, partner with global and international teams, and strengthen Regeneron’s scientific presence in Germany.
A Typical Day Might Include The Following:
1. Serve as the key Regeneron medical representative in Germany for internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Operations, Regulatory, Commercial) and external stakeholders (medical societies, academic institutions, key opinion leaders).
2. Represent Medical Affairs in cross‑functional internal meetings, partnering closely with global Therapeutic Area Medical Directors and Medical Affairs teams such as HEOR, Medical Education and Medical Information to optimize strategic and tactical planning.
3. Provide medical leadership to clinical development in Germany, including identification of centers of excellence, key investigators, and relevant clinical sites; support investigator meetings and targeted recruitment efforts.
4. Maintain deep scientific and clinical expertise in oncology/hematology and a strong understanding of clinical decision‑making and patient journeys.
5. Lead scientific engagement with external experts to advance the understanding and appropriate use of Regeneron medicines.
6. Bring the German patient and physician voice into cross‑functional strategy discussions, balancing scientific, clinical, and payer needs.
7. Represent Regeneron at scientific congresses, symposia, and advisory boards, and support the development and localization of scientific content.
8. Deliver scientific presentations to diverse audiences including clinicians, pharmacists, payers, and internal teams.
9. Provide medical support to local clinical operations and ensure strong cross‑functional alignment with headquarters.
10. Assess medical education needs and guide internal and external educational strategies.
11. Contribute medical expertise to commercial strategies, including launch readiness, market access, and life‑cycle management.
12. Ensure compliant review and approval of promotional and scientific materials in accordance with applicable laws and internal procedures.
This Role May Be For You, If You Bring:
13. A medical degree (M.D. strongly preferred) or an equivalent qualification, with proven expertise in Oncology/Hematology; clinical practice experience is a plus.
14. 15+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, primarily in Medical Affairs leadership roles.
15. Demonstrated leadership experience managing office‑based and field‑based Medical Affairs teams.
16. Strong knowledge of the German healthcare ecosystem, regulatory landscape, and drug development processes.
17. Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment and drive strategic medical plans.
18. Outstanding medical communication skills, with the ability to deliver succinct, actionable insights.
19. A track record of building and sustaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external experts.
20. High scientific integrity, reliability, and the ability to build trust through consistent follow‑through.
21. Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to simplify complex medical concepts.
