Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for managing fabrication shop facility and personnelUnderstand the technical deliverable through reading and interpretation of engineering schematics and related documentationManage project fabrication budget and deliverablesUnderstand project scope, budget, contract, goals and deliverables related to fabricationParticipate in internal project kick-off meetingsAssign lead techs to be in charge of fabrication effortsIdentify project fabrication tasksAssign tasks to technicians (shop and the field)Coordinate and schedule personnel to meet project milestonesMonitor the procurement process and assist in procurement when necessaryIdentify resource requirements, request personnel, and interview applicantsManage, monitor and procure shop suppliesEvaluate technician skills and recommend or perform training as requiredInspect and monitor work and processesAssist with commissioning and testing effortsEnsure that shop is kept clean and organizedParticipate in project Post Mortem meetingsEnsure that proper tools, connectors, and cable are being used appropriately for different applications and ensure that fabrication standards are metTravel to EU job sites when neededOther duties assigned as needed Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentExceptional strategic thinking and structured problem solving skillsAbility to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organizationCommunicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely mannerSelf-starter capable of working independently and ensuring to meet deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to balance multiple tasks with changing prioritiesExcellent structured problem-solving skillsDemonstrate time management skills with attention to detailValid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standardsEducation and/or Experience:Minimum High School Diploma or equivalentFormal education in Electronics or related field preferredManagement experience in a Fabrication Customer Service environment is requiredMinimum 5-6 years Fabrication experience preferred (i.e., assembly, wiring, testing, and delivery of Audio/Video/Control equipment racks)Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Brady Label softwareDemonstrated experience utilizing fabrication service with Audio Visual systems in environments such as entertainment, corporate, hospitality, government, education and retailWorking Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
