Your main tasks
1. Procurement of site specific requirements as allocated e.g. CapEx, MRO, services and materials
2. Analysis and good knowledge of the local procurement market for goods and services in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, market trends and cost drivers
3. Identify supply risk and execute risk mitigation strategies; drive supplier development and initiate supplier quality improvements
4. Supplier management, including developing and maintaining an effective supplier assessment program
5. achieve cost reductions and avoidances, create cash flow improvements and lead time reductions
6. Establish key supplier agreements, delivering innovative improvements and maintain supplier relationships
7. Participation in or lead of regional and global procurement projects
8. Collaboration with local and global teams and suppliers to support the development and implementation of strategies
9. Optimization of total costs of the German sites including the development and implementation of cost saving programs
10. Development, implementation and maintenance of procurement plans and best practices
11. Independently negotiating and drafting individual and framework contracts and awarding them
12. Identifying and assessing risks and benefits of procurement decisions and clearly presenting proposals to mitigate risks
13. Contributing to the annual budget process by providing reliable cost exclusions and realistic forecasts
Your profile
14. Successfully completed studies or alternatively commercial vocational training and many years of relevant experience in strategic purchasing
15. Many years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in an internationally operating production company
16. Very good experience in supplier and contract management
17. Good knowledge of SAP (MM) and MS Office
18. Very good knowledge of German and English
19. Team player who enjoys working with direct and indirect colleagues
20. Experience in cross-functional projects
21. Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to work
22. Very good negotiation and communication skills at all levels
