The Procurement team is responsible for securing the consultancy, construction services, Owner Furnished, Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment and operational services Vantage’s data centers require to be constructed and to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. Position Description In a Procurement Manager, Vantage is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to be an integral part of a team that manages OFCI strategy and corresponding supply chains. In this role, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for at least one complex OFCI category and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs. You will develop mechanisms and metrics for the Supplier Relationship Management Programme to hold suppliers accountable to manage performance and delivery. Additionally, you will drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, regional and global alliances and analyzing data and market trends for your category(ies). You will also drive innovation within the team to create/improve Procurement processes and tools to drive innovation across teams. As a Procurement Manager, you will be required to manage the interface with numerous projects simultaneously. (POD Structure) Regular collaboration and coordination will be required with our external supply chain partners and numerous internal teams such as Construction Cost & Finance (budget generation), Accounting, Delivery, Operations, and Legal. Occasional travel to Vantage Data Center sites will also be required. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, strategic thinker, capable of driving multiple initiatives. An excellent communicator you will influence internal stakeholders and suppliers at all levels. Focused on collaboration to deliver excellent results, you will operate with significant autonomy. Responsibilities · Manage complex categories within the Vantage OFCI portfolio · Implement, improve and create strategic plans and partnerships to deliver maximum value to the business for the following types of mechanical and electrical equipment including but not limited to—Medium Voltage Switchgear, Medium Voltage Transformers, Chillers, Computer Room Air Handlers, CRACS, Switchgear, CDP’s, UPS’s, Generators, and other electrical distribution gear. · Analyze category data and metrics to drive Procurement category strategies · Autonomously drive equipment submittals from cradle to grave. · Lead supplier selection process across multiple categories, internal teams, and regions, and create longer-term supplier selection strategies for management · Ensure you are knowledgeable about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically. · Work in close relationship with the Procurement Managers and Procurement Specialists (in the project PODS) and support him/her to drive tactical support and solutions · Work with Design Engineering to manage electrical single line diagrams, mechanical riser diagrams, and product specifications for multiple projects with the OFCI manufacturer. · Serve as a liaison between our supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to communicate major or forecasted changes in product lead-times and costs. · Support engineering and sales to solve client requests and design changes. · Support Finance / Accounting/POD team with invoicing issues, cash flow forecasts, and budget reconciliation · Innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes · Develop programmes to minimize physical OFCI inventory Job Requirements · Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, is required · 5, or more, years of experience in a supply chain, procurement, OFCI procurement or construction is required · Demonstrable experience in OFCI procurement/management in at least 1 category · Data Center or industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred · Technical aptitude of mechanical and electrical systems · Experience with construction and supplier contracts · Knowledge of construction management processes · Aptitude to learn quickly and drive things to closure autonomously is required · Strong business acumen and strong commercial background is required · Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques is required · Superb communication skills and the ability to comfortably present technical data to executive level leadership · 10-20% travel We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
