As a Business Solutions Architect (m/f/d) with a focus on SAP at Splunk, you combine deep SAP expertise with innovative strength to enhance digital resilience for our customers in the areas of Observability and Enterprise Security. In this critical pre-sales role, you design, implement, and optimize solutions that establish Splunk as the leading platform for security, visibility, and performance in the SAP environment. You have an in-depth understanding of SAP landscapes (including SAP ABAP, Java, PaaS, SaaS) and are capable of analyzing the monitoring and security requirements of these systems, designing appropriate Splunk solutions, and implementing them together with customers and internal teams. With your knowledge of the architecture, operation, and development of SAP systems, as well as your willingness to learn Splunk technologies, you act as a link between SAP operations, business units, and the capabilities of Splunk. This allows you to build robust, scalable solutions that meet evolving business needs and ensure the operation of critical business processes. Your Responsibilities: SAP Expertise: Analyze and deeply understand SAP landscapes, modules, business processes, and data structures; identify integration points for Splunk. Requirements Definition & Analysis: Capture and analyze monitoring and security requirements in SAP systems; define relevant data sources and flows for Splunk. Solution Design & Data Integration: Develop and implement strategies to integrate SAP data (e.g., telemetry data, application logs, audit logs, transactions) with external systems and applications using tools such as SAP PowerConnect, Splunk AppDynamics, or native/external logging mechanisms. Security & Observability: Design and implement solutions for real-time monitoring of SAP system status, detection of security-relevant events, and analysis of business processes with Splunk. Collaboration & Consulting: Work closely with business units, SAP basis, security, development, and operations teams both at the customer and internally to identify requirements and translate them into effective Splunk-based solution designs. Go-to-Market & Thought Leadership: Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for SAP-related Splunk solutions internally and with system integrators; present at events and to customers; build awareness of Splunk Solutions for SAP. Representation at Trade Shows and Events: Actively participate in relevant trade shows such as DSAG and other industry events to position Splunk as a solution provider for SAP Security and Observability, network, and gather market trends. Splunk Enablement: Gain expertise in Splunk architecture, development, and administration; instrument applications; develop dashboards, reports, alerts, and correlation rules for SAP requirements. Best Practices & Documentation: Ensure alignment to standard methodologies for SAP-Splunk integrations; create and maintain blueprints and technical concepts. Operationalization: Support sustainable implementation and usage of solutions as well as knowledge transfer. Requirements: Required: Completed degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a comparable qualification. At least 7 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years of practical experience with SAP systems (including architecture, implementation, operation). Deep understanding of SAP modules, business processes, and technical structures, especially SAP basis, security, and audit logging. Validated experience in the architecture and implementation of observability or security solutions in the SAP context. Experience in analyzing and integrating sophisticated SAP data structures. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly, including to non-technical team members. High self-motivation, willingness to learn, and interest in Splunk technologies (enablement and training are provided). Fluent German and English language skills are required. Desirable: Experience with SAP-specific Splunk applications/add-ons (e.g., SAP PowerConnect for Splunk, Splunk AppDynamics). Basic knowledge of Splunk or Splunk certification (e.g., User, Power User). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and data integration or in application development (e.g., Java). Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), especially in connection with SAP deployments or hybrid cloud scenarios. Project management skills. Example Use Cases: Development of a Splunk observability solution to monitor a business process consisting of a hybrid architecture with SAP and non-SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, Mulesoft/CPI, SaaS applications like Salesforce/SuccessFactors). Implementation of a Splunk security solution to analyze SAP user behavior and access activities; correlate security events with threat data; and create audit reports and compliance documentation. Support for migrating SAP systems to the cloud and integrating them into Splunk for centralized monitoring. Notes & Special Considerations: Splunk enablement and certifications are part of onboarding if no prior knowledge exists. The role is SAP-centered u2014 deep SAP expertise and the ability to translate this into business value with Splunk are essential.
