Location: Donauwörth Start: as soon as possible Duration: 24 months Your department provides transversal efficient and innovative avionics simulation & test means mainly to the Design Office. These means are used for the validation & verification throughout the life cycle of helicopter development. The used Test-System is a complete ecosystem of "Test Procedure Management Tools", "Automatic Test Sequencers", "Real-Time Test Tools", "Test Report management tools", "Simulation Frameworks", "Simulation Models", "Hardware interface boards for the Avionics", etc. In Donauwörth there are approx. 100 deployed occurrences of such Test-Systems, plus many mobile occurrences as well as many deployed simulations running on Linux based systems. Further Test-Systems are installed in France, Australia, Spain and Sweden. A close partnership with these entities is to be maintained, requiring international collaboration. Definition VIE The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. You will be working in an innovative team, requiring cooperation, following standards and with high team spirit. You will be technical contact point for sub-contractors, which ensure part of the Tool Maintenance in operative conditions (MCO), in particular you will coordinate the support for the tools developed within the department and support in the development of tools. One main topic will be configuration management support in the frame of the used Test tool suite, taken into account the actual tool qualification standards. Collecting the needs and designing test environments for new projects Being accountable end-to-end for the setup and deployment of solutions from the existing catalogue of hardware and software components up to entry into service Monitoring the availability and performance of the test systems (hardware, software, infrastructure), proactively solving detected deficiencies and investigating root causes Diagnose arising issues with a structured approach and coordinating help from various specialists Providing training to users, and counselling services Coordinating the test system support activities with other departments, suppliers and customers Collecting irritants, new feature requests and coordinating with the development teams to ensure consistency between customer needs and development roadmaps Supporting continuous improvement (e.g. test automation) by logging and following-up optimization ideas and learning from mistakes (Practical Problem Solving approach) Business trips inside and outside Germany could be required at a short notice.
