Your Role The Road Operations Generalist provides support to the Operations team, assisting colleagues in activities related to the operational process of road shipments and pick-up/delivery services. The role involves ensuring the correct operational management of shipments through the execution, control, and monitoring of the entire transport process, according to customer requirements. The generalist manages pick-ups and deliveries, identifying suitable carriers and hauliers. In case of delays and/or shipment holds, the person handles customer support together with the team, rescheduling delivery dates and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The role also supports margin control activities by verifying and recording transport costs, in compliance with company plans and required timelines. Main Activities Manages road shipment requests in the system, organizing the entire transport process and related documentation from order intake to final delivery in accordance with customer requirements and through direct communication with them. Ensures the accurate processing of pick-up and delivery requests in the system, guaranteeing correct and complete data entry. Identifies the most suitable carrier from the company network and optimizes vehicle space allocation using the available operational systems. Handles customer support in case of shipment delays or holds, rescheduling deliveries to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Supports the Pricing team in preparing quotations for requested shipments. Maintains autonomous communication with branches and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with customer shipping requirements. Supports the Billing team in monitoring shipment margins, ensuring compliance with plans and deadlines. Provides support to cross-docking warehouse colleagues when required. Skills & Experiences Diploma or degree in Business, International Trade, or related fields. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar roles (e.g. Spedition Kaufmann ). Deep knowledge of the road freight/logistics sector. Good command of German and English. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with main digital/IT tools.
