Position summary

The FP&A Lead, Germany plays a key leadership role in all FP&A activities for the German Commercial organization. This role is accountable for coordinating and executing the full financial planning and analysis cycle for the German market, ensuring high-quality budgets and projections, generating insights that enable strategic, data-driven decision making, and driving value creation and productivity initiatives. The FP&A Lead provides robust performance analysis and decision support and oversees operational excellence in FP&A delivery across both the local FP&A team and the Hyderabad Finance Hub. As a strategic business partner to the German Leadership Team, the FP&A Lead applies analytical rigor, supports scenario planning, challenges business assumptions, and supports high-quality decision-making across brands and functions. This position requires strong leadership, clear ownership, and accountability to elevate FP&A impact, improve forecasting quality, and promote proactive risk-and-opportunity management. The role ensures high-integrity financial stewardship, fosters transparency, and drives continuous improvement in financial processes, productivity, and ways of working. Operating at the center of cross-functional collaboration, the FP&A Lead plays a critical role in aligning priorities, influencing key stakeholders, and elevating the overall performance dialogue across the organization. The role reports into the Senior Director, Finance Germany.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination & Execution of budgets, projections, and strategic plans
2. Management of monthly closing processes and accurate financial reporting in a timely manner by overseeing the execution in the Hyderabad Finance Hub
3. Strategic business partnering with members of the leadership team with the objective to drive outcomes, trigger analytical decision-making and plan for diverse scenarios.
4. Financial analysis and guidance on business activities, targets, and business drivers.
5. Monitoring of business performance. Challenging results and developing recommendations to improve financial performance. Identification and communication of the financial risks and opportunities. Leadership in the execution of the plans or mitigation action plan implementation.
6. Functional Leadership, steering and developing a team of 3 Senior Managers (dotted line)
7. Interaction with Corporate, Regional and Local Managements to facilitate strategic decision making.
8. Partnership with cross-functional teams (e.g. Commercial/Medical/Market Access) to provide overall brand support, influence business decisions and identify actionable next steps.
9. Participation in global finance and cross-functional and optimize ways of working.
10. Identify opportunities that help drive best practices and optimization of financial process, including standardization and simplification

Skills/Capabilities/Experiences

11. Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent; MBA preferred.
12. Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles preferred.
13. Extensive financial planning and analysis background and experience with business planning cycle, budgeting process, demand forecasting, and profitability analysis.
14. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex financial data.
15. Strong business partnering and communication skills; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment, build strong cross-functional relationships, and foster team empowerment.
16. Experienced preparing and presenting to Senior Leadership.
17. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
18. Highest level of integrity, work ethic and financial stewardship.
19. Advanced proficiency in Digital Finance and AI-enabled tools; strong working knowledge of financial systems including SAP and Hyperion preferred.
20. Pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience preferred
21. Fluency in English, German preferred
