Our client is a global specialist in the manufacturing sector.
On behalf of our client we are seeking a
Head Legal (Europe)
for their European hub to be based in Limburg an der Lahn though a certain extent of home-office days is acceptable.
Key responsibilities:
The incumbent has personnel responsibility for one junior counsel and will be reporting to the Managing Director in Germany and in dotted line to the General Manager of the Legal & Compliance Department of the parent company abroad. The holder of the position will be particularly responsible for the following:
* Advising on all legal matters regarding the client's business in Germany and any other European subsidiaries with a strong focus on contractual work such as development agreements and purchase/sales agreements as well as advising on corporate law.
* Assisting on local dispute resolutions, working closely with the legal team and external counsel.
* Interfacing with senior management and providing reassurance that all legal matters are being managed effectively and with appropriate risk management.
* Interfacing with the head office abroad, resolving issues and ensuring there is a consistent and coordinated approach to all legal matters.
* Offering strategic support to senior company executives in order to achieve company objectives and business growth.
* Providing an oversight of the European business’ major legal and commercial risks, ensuring these are identified, and risk mitigation measures are in place through adequate controls, policies and procedures.
* Ensuring adherence to the highest standards of compliance and addressing regulatory matters in order to avoid financial damage.
* Delivering advice at a high standard, within timeframes required by the business and in a manner that meets commercial needs.
Requirements:
* German qualified lawyer with at least 10 years post-qualified experience in private practice and/or in-house in an international environment.
* Relevant experience in the field of commercial and corporate law. Basic knowledge and work experience regarding GDPR and European competition law matters is preferable.
* Hands-on and goal-orientated personality.
* Excellent command of English.
Salary: up to EUR 150k (no bonus scheme).
