About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Trademark Portfolio Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our global trademark portfolio, including filing and prosecution, clearance investigations, renewals, and evidence of use. They will also advise internal colleagues on intellectual property procedures and support various legal aspects of our domain name portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Trademark Filing and Prosecution: Lead global trademark filing and prosecution, preparing and filing trademark applications, and corresponding with external counsel.
* Clearance Investigations: Coordinate global trademark clearance investigations, performing and analyzing trademark searches.
* Renewals and Declarations: Manage and execute trademark renewals, declarations, and affidavits of use.
* Evidence of Use: Manage global evidence of use, implementing strategies to gather such evidence.
* Intellectual Property Guidance: Advise internal colleagues on intellectual property procedures, guidelines, and practices.
* Domain Name Portfolio: Support various legal aspects of our domain name portfolio, including domain acquisitions and UDRPs.
* Risk Analysis: Analyze risks and safeties associated with new trademark laws, regulations, and enactments, preparing trainings.
* Trademark Audit Projects: Develop and implement yearly trademark audit projects.
* Prosecution Strategies: Assist in the development of yearly trademark prosecution strategies.
* Financial Management: Track budgets, expenses, and reconcile partnered costs.
* External Expert Network: Maintain an international list of external legal experts, updating contact information, power of attorneys, and letters of engagement.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Candidate Profile: A master's degree in IP or trademark law, or equivalent experience.
* Professional Experience: At least five years of practical experience, preferably in-house in a globally oriented organization and/or international law firm.
* Technical Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a structured way, while delivering high-quality work.
* Languages: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, fluency in German and/or Spanish and/or French and/or Chinese (spoken and written) is a valuable plus.
* Software Proficiency: Good skills in the use of standard software packages, particularly MS Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics 365, MS SharePoint, MS Vision, and MS Project.
