Your tasks and responsibilities:
Legal Strategy & Leadership
* Develop and execute the overall legal strategy for the corporate functions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s business objectives.
* Provide expert and strategic legal advice to the board, senior management, and business units on all corporate legal matters, including compliance, transactions, and regulatory affairs.
* Lead the corporate legal team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Mergers, Acquisitions, & Transactions
* Oversee legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
* Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary, ensuring efficient and effective representation.
Regulatory Affairs
* Act as main point of contact for all regulatory parties on a group level
* Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, external counsel, and other key stakeholders to protect the organization’s legal and business interests.
Contract Management
* Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of key corporate contracts and agreements, including service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
* Implement efficient contract management systems and processes across the organization.
Risk Management
* Identify, assess, and manage legal risks associated with the company’s business activities.
* Work closely with the risk management team to ensure proactive legal risk management and mitigation strategies.
* Lead investigations into significant legal issues and disputes, managing litigation, arbitration, or other dispute resolution processes when necessary.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of in-house corporate lawyers and legal professionals for all group entities.
* Manage relationships with external law firms, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
Stakeholder Management
* Act as a trusted advisor to internal business units, providing practical and actionable legal advice.
Your skills and experience:
* Educational law background & equivalent law degree
* Licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction(s).
* Minimum 10-15 years of legal experience with a focus on corporate legal matters, including significant experience in a senior leadership role within a corporate environment.
* Proven track record in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and compliance.
* Extensive experience working with C-suite executives and board members.
* Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
* Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
* Deep understanding of corporate law, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
* High level of integrity, professional ethics, and sound judgment in complex legal matters.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of industry-specific regulations.
