We are looking for a Procurement Manager – European Road Freight (LTL / FTL) to join our Logistics & Services Procurement organisation. The role is flexibly located within Europe, reflecting the pan-European scope and enabling us to attract the best possible talent.
This role combines strategic direction with hands-on, tactical procurement execution in a fast-paced, international environment.
The Opportunity
As Procurement Manager, you will act as a commercial and operational business partner for European road freight, managing a complex carrier ecosystem across LTL and FTL networks, covering both domestic and cross-border flows.
You will contribute to category strategy development while remaining closely involved in day-to-day sourcing, negotiations, rate management, contract execution, and performance follow-up.
You will work closely with stakeholders across Product (MGF, LCL, MEC), Network Design, HSSE, Finance, Legal, Sustainability, and Digital teams across Europe and globally.
What You’ll Be Doing
Category Strategy & Tactical Sourcing Execution
1. Contribute to pan-European road freight category strategies with a clear LTL / FTL focus
2. Lead and execute sourcing activities such as tenders, lane pricing, carrier onboarding, and negotiations
3. Establish and maintain carrier agreements that balance cost, service quality, and scalability
4. Support continuous rate optimisation through structured follow-up
Carrier Network, Performance & Contract Management
5. Manage a European road freight carrier network across domestic and cross-border flows
6. Monitor KPIs such as OTIF, cost, and service quality and drive improvements
7. Ensure contract compliance and performance follow-up
Multi-Product Procurement Scope
8. Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) road freight networks
9. E-commerce pickups and linehauls
10. LTL, LCL and distribution solutions
Data-Driven & Digital Procurement
11. Use data to benchmark rates and support sourcing decisions
12. Work with TMS and digital platforms (e.g. Oracle Transportation Management, Transporeon, CargoWise)
Commercial Partnership & Planning
13. Partner closely with Product teams (MGF, LCL, MEC)
14. Proactively plan sourcing activities to meet operational needs
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
15. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
16. Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement, road freight, or logistics experience
17. Experience with European LTL / FTL networks and cross-border transport
18. Experience balancing strategic sourcing with hands-on execution
Commercial, Analytical & Digital Skills
19. Strong commercial and negotiation skills
20. Ability to use data to support sourcing and pricing decisions
21. Experience with procurement systems, BI tools, or TMS platforms is an advantage

25. Fluent English required
26. Additional European languages (e.g. German, Danish, Polish, Spanish) are highly valued but not mandatory
27. Strong proficiency in MS Office; ERP, procurement platforms, and transport systems are an advantage
