Decision Trees is a software and consulting company that develops new mathematical, especially stochastic optimization models for the energy industry and introduces them into practice. The models are embedded in our software system DT.Energy, which is used by a large number of customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Estonia, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. This involves improving the use and increasing the efficiency of thermal power plants, district heating systems, hydropower plants, gas storage facilities or gas procurement portfolios and, in particular, batteries and renewable generation through sophisticated mathematical optimization. This is an exciting and very challenging task, especially in the current energy transition.

Your tasks
* Analyzing the business processes and requirements of our international customers
* Analysis of current developments in the energy industry
* Establishing contacts and maintaining a network of decision-makers in the energy industry in an international environment
* Conception, implementation and further development of our applications for portfolio optimization (front-end, business logic, database), especially with regard to cloud-based solutions in MS Azure
* Customer support and independent maintenance of existing IT systems
* Close cooperation with marketing / sales
* Presentation of our IT solutions
* Leading processing of tenders
* Further development of our website and Linked-In profile
Your skills
* Completed university degree in (business) computer science, (business) mathematics, physics or a similar course of study
* Excellent communication skills in German and English
* Confident and convincing appearance
* Experience in consulting in the energy industry, particularly in energy trading and portfolio management
* Personal network in the European energy industry
* Knowledge of modern IT architectures, especially in cloud-based solutions in MS Azure
* Experience in application development is an advantage
* Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, in particular Microsoft SQL Server and / or Oracle is an advantage
* Ideally knowledge of operations research and solver technologies (Gurobi / CPLEX)
* Confident handling of Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio and / or SQL Developer is an advantage
