What's the role?About the team:The HERE Platform Solutions Architecture team is part of a horizontal architecture group responsible for defining the target architecture of platform products at HERE. This group has a significant influence on how software products are designed, implemented, and maintained. The team fosters a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing, working closely with strategic customers worldwide to build solutions leveraging HERE location platform. The team directly impacts customer success and HERE’s competitiveness.The team comprises around 9 architects with diverse backgrounds and a shared focus on creating customer value through broad and deep system understanding. We are expanding to manage more customers.About the role:The Senior Principal Architect will contribute to HERE's success by enabling customer success through technical leadership and partnership.Design clear, consistent system architectures to integrate HERE products, partners, and customer systems into a unified architecture.Collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions based on customer requirements.Define and communicate key technical interfaces and validate architecture through prototypes or PoCs.Translate market needs into technical architectures balancing performance, scalability, costs, and compatibility.Who are you?Proven experience delivering large-scale automotive system architectures, especially in ADAS/AD.Expertise in in-vehicle system architecture and SDV architecture patterns.Leadership skills in multi-stakeholder environments.Experience with cloud-based, vehicle-centric software architectures in automotive.Knowledge of new technologies, tools, and methodologies benefiting business.Track record of technical leadership and mentoring.Customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering value.Qualifications:Degree in computer science or related field; strong fundamentals.10+ years in distributed/parallel software systems; 5+ years in architect/engineering roles.Experience with embedded Linux, Android Auto, QNX, etc.Familiarity with Flink, Spark, Kafka, Redis for data processing.Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms.Proven ability to develop high-performance, robust edge software for ADAS/AD.Understanding of AI/ML foundations and applications; experience in location services and digital maps is a plus.This position is based in Berlin, Germany, with relocation support available.What we offer:Work-life balance, hybrid work model, challenging problems, collaborative colleagues.Learning opportunities: hackathons, talks, training.Regular feedback, 30 vacation days, flexible hours, competitive salary + bonus.BVG ticket, language courses, wellness apps, diverse team, social events.Change is HERE.
