Description As our new Accounting Manager, you’ll be a key strategic partner to the Finance Director – helping shape the financial future of the business in Germany. From overseeing reporting cycles to leading system integrations and mentoring the next generation of finance talent, your influence will be felt across the company. Responsibilities • Manage the monthly financial close process for all German business units, including ensuring all revenues and costs incurred are properly recorded and balance sheet accounts are maintained accurately. • Management local German accounting team across two locations. Mentor and develop accounting team, provide technical training and support in relevant areas. • Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and procedures and make recommendations to comply with local regulations, where applicable. • Review of journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forwards for all German business units. • Own reconciliation between local accounting system and corporate systems. • Identify and maintain reconciliation of US GAAP differences with reference to German GAAP. • Interact with the business unit finance and wider Corporate Accounting to produce a timely, efficient and accurate month-end close. • Prepare detailed account analyses as part of the month-end close. • Collaborate with external statutory auditors and Corporate Statutory Reporting Team to ensure successful audit results and compliance. • Work with Corporate Tax team to support local tax filings. • Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment. • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications • 5-8 years of accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional audit firm experience strongly preferred), • Strong knowledge of German GAAP and German financial reporting requirements is essential, • Knowledge in U.S. GAAP rules beneficial, • Experience working in an international/US groups, • Large ERP experience (with Oracle Fusion a plus), • Experience of DATEV required, • Experience in supervising a team of employees, • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively both with local teams and with US/UK/Europe, • Strong attention to detail, ability to self-review, and sense of ownership, • Excellent organizational and planning skills; set goals, establish priorities, utilize available resources and plan work to meet deadlines and commitments, • Effective documentation, teamwork and communication skills are required. Skills/Education: • Masters degree in Accounting required, • Professional accounting qualification preferred, • Fluency in English and German required LI-MV3 LI-Hybrid
