As a field-based expert, you will play a central role in strategically driving the commercial objectives of Alnylam’s genetic programs within your assigned territory. Reporting to the Area Sales Lead, you will be accountable for developing and implementing territory-specific key account plans that support optimized patient care and align with the overall product strategy.In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners — including Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Market Access, and Commercial — to ensure cohesive execution and full compliance with relevant company, industry, legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. You will also engage deeply with key healthcare professionals, supporting the identification of appropriate centers for diagnosis and treatment, strengthening referral pathways, and expanding awareness of Alnylam’s RNAi platform.This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned KAM who thrives in a dynamic environment, values meaningful customer engagement, and is passionate about advancing innovative therapies that make a difference in patients’ lives.Key ResponsibilitiesPresent a positive image of the company and develop awareness of Alnylam’s RNAi platform with relevant groups of healthcare professionalsDevelop, own, and drive territory and account plans, including customer targeting and cycle plan, in line with Marketing strategy and Business Operations guidanceAchieve pre-launch and post-launch KPIs, including sales and volume targetsUse advanced sales skills to ensure consistent and continuous messagingPerform detailed analysis of the assigned territory to identify, assess, and develop relevant centers for diagnosis and treatmentDrive patient group identification, diagnosis and referral rates by strategic intersectoral referral network management in close cooperation with other field based functionsDevelop trusted relationships with a portfolio of customers to ensure market penetration, after developing a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirementsEnsure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner by collaborating with internal stakeholders (commercial, supply chain, and compliance) and external centersEstablish and maintain contact with key customers and provide commercial and scientific services to ensure access at site of care, and that logistics are in place to administer productManage and execute local meetings to drive diagnosis and treatment rates, in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Team for physicians and other healthcare professionalsRepresent Alnylam at local and national events and congressesServe as the link of communication between key customers and internal teamsLiaise and collaborate with relevant internal staff (Medical Affairs, Sales Director, Marketing, Market Access and Business Operations), as requiredSteer regular local alignment meetings with other field based functions to ensure proper implementation and outcomes against the committed territory and account plans.Timely and accurate reporting and continuous diligent maintenance of the CRM databaseConduct all activities to highest ethical standards in accordance with country code of practice and local Laws and regulationsSignificant domestic travel and occasional international travel as neededQualificationsUniversity degree in a business-related field such as health or business management or comparable educational backgroundCertified to promote medicinal products to national code of practice standard in Germany7+ years of Sales and Key Account Management experience in bio/pharmaceutical salesAbility to gain consistent access and develop strong & professional relationships for product promotion with healthcare providers in reference centers and the communityEffective communication and influencing skills to engage with professionals at all organizational levelsStrong business acumen to add value to the existing health care structures.Ability to draw on previous experiences and insights to generate and maintain appropriate awareness and timely access to treatmentExcellent organizational and project management skillsFluent in German and English, both written and verbalAbility to travel within a territory on a regular basis (80% of the time)Why Alnylam?Join a company recognized for its innovation, open culture, and commitment to people.
