As a Global Commodity Manager (f/m/d) you will have the opportunity to build up the strategic procurement for the Engineering Services category. The category is focusing on the outsourcing of Engineering Services ( testing, simulations, mechanical/electrical/systems engineering) to suppliers during the R&D, product development and customer implementation phase. In this key role, you will work closely with partners from engineering globally being at the forefront of the latest innovations and product developments within Siemens Energy.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Lead sourcing activities from demand request to awarding, performing total cost analysis to select high-performing suppliers that meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements. Initiate and steer cost-saving and bundling activities, growing managed spend with flawless execution.
2. Prepare and negotiate global frame contracts & price agreements for strategic suppliers, strictly aligning with business and market requirements
3. Build and manage relationships with strategic suppliers, develop a strategic supplier portfolio, and de-risk supplier dependencies while reducing tail-end suppliers
4. Consult with partners up to senior management on outsourcing strategies and risk avoidance, working closely with different procurement areas to ensure world-class outcomes.
5. Collaborate with partners to determine and successfully implement the engineering services category strategy, building additional value aligned with business needs and strategic objective
6. Review planned projects/demands, understand demand structures, and develop basic technical knowledge of the product portfolio
What You Bring
7. Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or similar fields
8. Proven long-standing experience in a procurement or commercial role within a global organization, with engineering experience being a plus
9. Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, coupled with leadership and project management experience, such as PMP certification
10. Experience working in global teams and communicating effectively up to senior management levels across the organization
11. A strong sense of accountability and initiative, exhibiting excellent analytical skills, a structured work style, critical thinking, and customer focus
12. Proficiency in English for business purposes and conversational skills in German
