The fact that our actions have a direct impact on people's well-being is what drives us every day.Your roleYou will lead a team of firmware and electronics developers and promote their professional development through targeted coaching, training and regular, constructive feedbackYou will ensure the reliable planning, implementation and monitoring of embedded systems projects by your team in accordance with schedules and budgetsYou will collaborate closely across departments and locations (e.G. hardware development, quality assurance) and successfully integrate external development partnersYou will develop modular platform solutions and integrate new technologies and trends in the field of embedded systems, contributing to quality improvement and reduction of development costsYou will integrate open source principles and represent Zeiss in external committees and open source communitiesYou will implement best practices in product/software development and system/firmware architecture and implement verification and validation strategies to ensure quality and reliabilityYou will ensure compliance with legal and normative requirements as well as relevant cybersecurity specifications in all development processesYour profileYou have a degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or a related fieldYou have several years of professional experience in the successful and cross-functional development of embedded systems, preferably in medical device developmentYou have experience in technical and disciplinary leadership and in developing high-performing teams in a regulated environment and in the field of cybersecurityYou have experience in collaborating with and managing external development partners nationally and globallyYou have in-depth knowledge of relevant programming languages such as C, C++, Python, as well as application knowledge in the use of Linux-based real-time operating systems, preferably Zephyr, as well as microcontrollers and bus systems (CAN, CAN-FD, TSN)You are familiar with modern product and software development methods and associated CI/CD tools, such as GitHub, Azure DevOps and JiraYou have knowledge of platform development/product line engineering; practical experience isdesirableYou have application-related project management skills and the ability to use both classic and agile approaches as appropriate to the situationYou have a solution-oriented and analytical mindsetYou have good communication skills and experience in stakeholder managementYou enjoy working with international and diverse teamsYou have very good English skills, written and spoken and good German skills
