Tasks & responsibilities In your new role, you will lead a motivated team of up to three technicians in an in vivo research laboratory, supporting the Cardiovascular and Sarcopenia pipeline. With your expertise you will act as a research project leader of drug discovery projects in close collaborations with other disciplines, including target discovery sciences, medicinal chemistry, NBE discovery and drug discovery sciences. Furthermore, you will design and supervise in vivo efficacy studies to support projects of our Cardiovascular and Sarcopenia pipeline, and you will shape and drive the overarching in vivo test strategy. Moreover, you will set up and validation of new in vivo models that mirror the human pathophysiology of heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke and sarcopenia. Based on your scientific expertise, you will propose new therapeutic concepts for the treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases and/or Sarcopenia. You will be responsible for the in vivo testing of new molecular entities (e.g. small molecules, peptides, antibodies, si/saRNA approaches) in disease relevant models. In addition, you will design and oversee preclinical studies at CROs and academia, and lead collaborations to advance science. Finally, you will work in a multidisciplinary team with members from various scientific backgrounds. Requirements PhD degree in biology, biochemistry or molecular pharmacology, DVM, or MD with several years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or in an academic environment Several years of experience in preclinical echocardiography, telemetry and/or in vivo models of muscle physiology are a plus Expert knowledge in design, supervision and interpretation of preclinical in vivo studies with a focus on rodent models; ideally experience in writing German applications for animal experiments Good knowledge of in vivo pharmacology with a strong background in Cardiovascular Diseases and/or Sarcopenia Scientific excellence, demonstrated by a track record of publications in scientific journals Excellent oral communication skills, as well as fluency in spoken and written English are mandatory; good language skills in German and the willingness to improve them further is a plus Ready to contact us?
