Civil Supervisor

Project Large-scale LNG Import Terminal / Energy Infrastructure Project
Job Summary The Civil Supervisor will be responsible for supervising, inspecting, and coordinating all civil construction activities on a major LNG terminal project in Brunsbüttel, Germany. The role ensures that all works are executed safely, in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and applicable German and international standards.
The position has a strong focus on site inspections, quality control, contractor supervision, and HSE compliance throughout all phases of civil works.
Key Responsibilities Site Supervision & Construction
* Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities including earthworks, concrete works, foundations, drainage, roads, and structural civil elements.
* Ensure works are executed in line with approved IFC drawings, method statements, and project specifications .
* Coordinate and monitor subcontractors and construction crews on site.
* Liaise closely with Construction Managers, Engineers, HSE, and Quality teams.
Inspections & Quality Control
* Carry out regular site inspections to verify compliance with design, quality standards, and workmanship requirements.
* Inspect formwork, reinforcement, concrete pours, backfilling, and finishing works.
* Witness and document inspections, tests, and quality checks (ITPs, checklists, punch lists).
* Identify defects, non-conformances, and ensure timely corrective actions.
* Support handover and completion documentation.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
* Enforce strict HSE standards in line with LNG terminal and German regulatory requirements.
* Conduct toolbox talks, site walkdowns, and safety observations.
* Ensure permits, risk assessments, and method statements are followed.
* Actively promote a strong safety culture on site.
Coordination & Reporting
* Coordinate with engineering, planning, and procurement teams to ensure construction readiness.
* Monitor progress against schedule and report delays or issues.
* Prepare daily and weekly site reports covering progress, manpower, inspections, and HSE observations.
* Support commissioning and handover phases as required.
Requirements & Qualifications Education
* Technical qualification or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline .
Experience
* Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in civil supervision on large industrial or energy projects.
* Proven experience on LNG terminals, oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
* Strong background in site inspections and quality control of civil works.
Technical Skills
* Solid knowledge of civil construction methods and materials.
* Familiarity with German construction standards, Eurocodes, and international codes (DIN, EN, ISO).
* Experience working with ITPs, NCRs, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
HSE & Compliance
* Strong understanding of HSE requirements in LNG / high-risk environments .
* Safety training or certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
Language
* English required (working language on site).
* German or Spanish Language are a strong advantage.
