Materials Engineer Job Description
As a Materials Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and manufacturing of electrification modules for the international automotive industry.
Key responsibilities include:
* Selecting and validating materials for electrification components through collaboration with design and manufacturing teams,
* Communicating technical requirements to regional suppliers and resolving material-related issues,
* Supporting the validation of new materials through lab testing and performance evaluation,
* Leading root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to material failures,
* Writing and maintaining material specifications and design rules,
* Ensuring environmental compliance in material selection and usage,
* Coordinating failure analysis lab activities and managing reporting timelines,
* Presenting technical findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers,
* Working autonomously while effectively managing priorities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or Polymer Science,
* 3-5 years of experience in Materials Engineering development, selection, and/or analysis,
* General knowledge of the mechanics of materials,
* Familiarity with analytical tools such as SEM, FTIR, DSC, TGA, Thermal Analysis, and Mechanical analysis,
* Experience in material testing, specification writing, and supplier interaction,
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
