Position Summary
Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Equipment Ramp Coordinator to support the successful startup and scale‑up of a new semiconductor fabrication facility in Dresden for one of our most strategic global customers. This role is critical to ensure a smooth ramp of equipment and processes during fab startup and following high‑volume manufacturing ramp.
The Ramp Management team within Applied Materials AGS plays a critical role in supporting the Field Service Organization through comprehensive ramp‑up analysis and operational readiness planning.
This role also requires high mobility and adaptability, as ramp schedules are closely tied to customer and operational needs.
This is a permanent, full-time role requiring on-site presence in Dresden, Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Overall:
1. Own end-to-end fab ramp execution, serving as the central coordination point between customers and Applied Materials organizations to ensure on-time, risk-mitigated delivery aligned with aggressive customer ramp schedules.
2. Coordinate new fab ramp activities across multiple Applied Materials product groups and functions
3. Serve as the primary interface between the customer and Applied Materials ramp stakeholders
4. Align headcount readiness according move-in schedule with Applied Materials stakeholders
5. Ensure execution of change management during rapid tool order and configuration changes
6. Support problem resolution related to logistics, assembly, documentation and media availability
7. Facilitate regular ramp reviews, readiness meetings, and executive updates
Pre-Ramp Phase:
8. Readiness Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of ramp readiness, focusing on safety, documentation, procedures, and logistic support.
9. Checklist Compliance: Ensure all pre-ramp activities comply with ramp checklists.
10. Coordination: Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure all necessary preparations are in place before ramp-up begins.
11. Documentation Verification: Verify that all necessary documentation, including safety protocols, installation procedures, and logistic plans, are complete and up to date.
12. Resource Allocation: Ensure that all required resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, are available and properly allocated.
Execution Phase:
13. Status Updates: Monitor and assess the status of the ramp-up process using standardized check lists
14. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and work with the service manager to develop and implement recovery plans, including actions, owners, and timelines.
15. Control and Oversight: Maintain control over the execution phase, ensuring adherence to customer safety and quality standards.
16. Real-Time Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the ramp-up process in real-time, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
17. Progress Tracking: Track the progress of parallel installation activities against the project timeline and customer milestones.
Performance Monitoring:
18. KPI Review: Regularly review measurable KPIs related to safety, quality, cycle time, and cost. Analyze performance data/ KPIs to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
19. Reporting: Prepare and present weekly and monthly review reports, following the established review template.
20. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the ramp-up process to high level of quality
21. Benchmarking: Compare performance metrics against industry standards and best practices to ensure competitive performance.
Communication and Collaboration:
22. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including customers, service managers, and internal teams.
23. Issue Resolution: Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to the ramp-up process.
24. Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback loop with the installation team to gather insights and suggestions for process improvements.
25. Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for customers during the ramp-up phase, ensuring their requirements and expectations are met.

Logistics and Resource Management:
30. Resource Review: Regularly review manpower requirements based on the latest installation plans and schedules.
31. Resource Optimization: Coordinate with the installation team for resource planning and address resource gaps if necessary. Optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
Qualifications
32. Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering, preferably with a major in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
33. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in equipment installation, project management, or a similar role within the semiconductor industry.
34. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and coordination abilities, and proficiency in using project management tools and software.
35. Relevant project management certifications are a plus.
36. Experience in equipment installation chain – logistics / shipment / assembly / hookup / startup
37. Experience in international new FAB ramp-up and tool move-in + start up project organization
38. EQ installation planning / manpower resource planning
39. Basic understanding of related Semi and EU specs/ standards and involved Applied Materials products
40. Detailed technical knowledge (hands-on) in at least one frontend equipment application
