Job Summary
A highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer 5 with expertise in intelligent storage and data management systems to join WAFL (Write Anywhere File Layout) team. As an SE5, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced storage and data management solutions. You will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic technical decisions.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and development of new features and enhancements for the WAFL file system within the ONTAP storage operating system.
2. Analyze and optimize the performance of the WAFL file system, ensuring high efficiency and scalability.
3. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to team members.
4. Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues related to data integrity, performance, and scalability.
5. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, QA engineers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality intelligent storage solutions.
6. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
7. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and software defects.
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into projects as appropriate.
9. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
10. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting technical concepts and project progress.
Qualifications:
11. Technical Skills:
12. Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
13. Deep understanding of file systems, data structures, and algorithms.
14. Experience with performance analysis and optimization techniques.
15. Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and kernel development.

Preferred Qualifications:
20. Experience with ONTAP or similar storage operating systems.

Education
23. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
24. Experience: 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on file systems or storage technologies.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 187,000 - 278,300 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
