Position Title : Windows Administrator Location: Stuttgart, Germany Minimum Security Clearance: Secret eCRAFT: SISS2 Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred Years of Experience: 3 years in Windows administration or related IT roles Citizenship: United States citizenship required Position Description The Windows Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing Windows-based systems and servers to ensure operational stability, integrity, and efficiency. This role supports enterprise IT infrastructure, applying technical expertise, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities to identify, communicate, and resolve system issues. The Windows Administrator provides system sustainment, end-user support, and ensures adherence to applicable security standards. Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and components to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other Windows-based services Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions Apply OS patches, upgrades, and administrative tool updates regularly Conduct system monitoring to verify integrity and availability of hardware, servers, and key processes Perform system upgrades and configurations as required Monitor and evaluate system performance, providing reports and statistics Maintain operational, configuration, and procedural documentation Execute file archival and purging processes as necessary Manage and verify security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus tools, and intrusion detection systems Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures Collaborate with network, application, and database teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and availability Address and resolve technical issues efficiently Maintain compliance with DoD 8140/8570 requirements Provide on-call support on a rotational basis as necessary Research and evaluate Windows issues, products, and solutions as needed Prioritize and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure situations Required Skills Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022) Active Directory administration experience Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other Windows server roles Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/S) PowerShell scripting and automation experience Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong documentation and reporting skills Knowledge of Windows hardening and security best practices Highly Desired Skills Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure) and hybrid environments Knowledge of database management (e.g., SQL Server) Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM) Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices Understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe v6.0) methodology Experience, Education and Certification Requirements Relevant certifications, including Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and CompTIA Security Additional Information Position may require up to 25% travel CONUS (continental U.S.) travel may be required Must be a U.S. Citizen Benefits at 3 Reasons Consulting At 3 Reasons Consulting, we are committed to supporting the well-being of our team with a comprehensive benefits package that includes both company-paid and shared-cost options.
