We collaborate with strain engineers, analysts and other experts in order to deliver new HMO producing strains and optimize HMO production processes. The Research & Development department of the Chr. Hansen HMO GmbH in Bonn (Germany) is part of the Novonesis group. The HMO R&D consists of scientists with different expertise such as molecular biology, fermentation, analytics, chemistry, and systems biology. We are working in a matrix structure with flat hierarchies. In this role you’ll make an impact by: Execute on lab scale fermentations for HMO development: Preparation and maintenance of equipment, preparation of material, sampling, sample preparation and analysis Documentation of results General lab maintenance Supporting function in fermentation related projects To succeed you must hold: Technical education (BTA, CTA, MTA, or similar) or a BSc in biotechnology, food technology, analytical chemistry or a related field in life science Familiar with sterile working techniques and used to work with genetically engineered organisms Hands-on experience with fermentation processes Knowledge about analytical chemistry is a bonus Fluent in English; able to work in English and German Curious and passionate for science and industrial applications Pro-active, self-driven and motivated, able to work independent Could our purpose be yours?
