Compliance Officer (Controls & Investigations)Location: This position is based in Italy and can be located at any of the GEA sites indicated in the job posting.Department: Legal & ComplianceGEA is building an internal Compliance Audit function that was previously managed by external consultants. We are looking for a Compliance Officer (Controls & Investigations) to plan and execute Compliance Spot Checks across GEA subsidiaries worldwide. These standardized, sample-based audits assess adherence to internal Compliance Policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements, helping us identify potential risks early and safeguard the integrity of our operations.While the primary focus of the role is on Compliance Spot Checks, the Compliance Officer may also support Compliance Investigations on an ad hoc basis, for example in cases involving suspected misconduct, fraud, or corruption.As Compliance Officer, you will be part of GEA’s Compliance & Integrity team and report to the Senior Director responsible for Compliance Controls & Investigations, based in Düsseldorf, Germany. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, global environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of GEA’s compliance framework.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and conduct Compliance Spot Checks in GEA subsidiaries worldwide according to the defined audit planPerform sample-based reviews of processes, transactions, and documentation to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and internal guidelinesEvaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance measuresIdentify, document, and assess compliance risks, control weaknesses, and deviationsPrepare clear, structured reports with findings and actionable recommendationsCommunicate results professionally to local management and relevant stakeholdersTrack and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions and remediation measuresSupport Compliance Investigations when required (e.g., suspected corruption or fraud)University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with excellent academic resultsExperience in an international auditing firm or a multinational company, ideally in auditing or forensic services; experience in compliance audits is a plusFluency in Italian and English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantageStrong analytical, investigative, and reporting skillsOpen-minded, with strong communication abilities and a collaborative mindsetWillingness to travel internationally as needed (up to 20%)Candidates are kindly requested to submit their CV in English.GEA is proudly certified as a Top Employer, confirming our commitment to employee well-being, development, and empowerment.Ready to engineer a better world with us?
