Cyber Security Director
Location: Germany (flexible - travel required)
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security Director to join their team. This role involves strategic direction, client engagement at the executive level, and the development of high-performing teams. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise across regulatory, strategic, and technical areas to guide organisations in enhancing their cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the growth and strategic direction of the cybersecurity advisory function.
* Manage and coach a team of consultants and technical specialists.
* Deliver complex advisory projects across topics such as IT risk, information security, incident response, cloud security, and IAM.
* Provide guidance on regulatory compliance (e.g., NIS2, ISO 27001, national standards).
* Develop and present tailored security strategies to senior client stakeholders.
* Foster and sustain trusted advisory relationships across a range of industries.
* Represent the organization at industry events and professional forums.
* Maintain flexibility for regular travel within Germany and occasional travel across Europe.
Candidate Profile:
* University degree in IT, engineering, or a related technical field.
* Minimum 8 years experience in cybersecurity, with a strong consulting or advisory background.
* Proven leadership skills in project delivery and team management.
* Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, security technologies, and enterprise architectures.
* Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks in Germany and the EU.
* Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001) are advantageous.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Fluent in German (C1/C2) and English.
* Willingness to travel regularly across Germany.
