Who we are
The mission has started. We proudly announce that in our Battery Valley we are starting our own battery cell production and the ramp up of our worldwide headquarters for global cell manufacturing. This includes ESS (Energy Storage System) & non-automotive applications. The ESS organization takes care of the upstream storage value chain. Our responsibility includes research, pre-development of materials and components, series development, prototyping, testing and analysis of ESS components & storages.
Your role and key responsibilities
* The BESS electrical planner is responsible for the electrical design, i.e. the selection, layout and arrangement of the electrical components in our stationary battery storage systems.
* Definition of the general system architecture, the technical requirements and derivation of suitable materials and components.
* The standard-compliant creation of circuit diagrams, circuit diagrams and system drawings of the electrical components and protective devices in EPLAN or similar CAD tools.
* Definition of labels on cables/terminal strips and EE components
* Design and implementation of cell-to-cell, CAN and Modbus connections to optimise proper signal/data transmission between the battery cells and the BMS.
* of the battery cells and the BMS.
* Perform risk analyses and safety assessments to ensure that all electrical systems comply with applicable standards and regulations.
* Ensure electrical safety, compliance with component specification, including implementation of over current, over voltage and earthing protection measures.
* Overseeing the design and creation of sample stages and conducting tests to validate performance and safety requirements.
* Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including specifications, test reports and user manuals.

* In-depth experience in using EPLAN or other CAE tools to create circuit diagrams and technical documentation.
* Knowledge of battery technologies and understanding of the basics of electrical engineering, especially in the voltage range up to 1500 V.
* Knowledge of risk assessment, failure modes and impact analysis for BESS.
* Experience in the planning, development and implementation of battery storage systems, including knowledge of sample stage design, test procedures and production processes.
* Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, UN, UL, ISO) as well as the specific regulatory requirements for BESS.
What makes you stand out
* Previous work experience in grid-connected or off-grid energy storage projects
