Hauptaufgaben
The Dental Assistant supports the dentist during examinations and treatments and may perform additional tasks based on training and qualifications. This includes preparing materials, taking dental impressions, placing and shaping temporary and permanent restorations, taking X‑rays, and assisting with preventive care. Under the dentist's direction, the assistant may perform tasks such as cleaning teeth, removing sutures, applying topical treatments, and providing patients with guidance on proper oral hygiene.
The role also includes supporting the daily operation of the dental practice. This involves scheduling appointments, preparing treatment rooms, maintaining equipment and instruments, documenting patient care, and ensuring accurate records. The Dental Assistant helps patients before, during, and after treatment, explains procedures, and provides personalized home‑care instructions to support good oral health.
In addition, the Dental Assistant manages administrative tasks such as communicating with insurance providers and laboratories, tracking payments, and supporting the billing process. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, supportive communication to patients and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
K-5:
Dental Assistant with completed vocational training and 1 year of experience performing the full range of duties required in the field of dental health services including preventive therapy, or performing specialty dental assistance.
NOTE: Medical Examinations may be necessary and requested by management.

Beschäftigungsbedingungen
This is a temporary full-time position (38.5 hours/ week) until return of permanent incumbent, not to exceed 2 years.

* Basic Medical Termniology desired
It is highly recommended that all employees who provide work in military treatment facilities in Germany be immunized against seasonal influenza infection each year or as often as recommended. The immunization will be provided at no cost to the employee.
THIS CONCERNS ALL EXTERNAL APPLICANTS:
* Generally, you must have been a resident in Germany for at least 12 months. Non-US citizen family members and German citizens are exempt from this requirement.
* Your permanent residence must be within Germany.
* Police Good Conduct Certificate (Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis): On initial appointment, or re-appointment after a break in service, candidates who have been selected for a position must present a police good-conduct certificate prior to appointment to the position. The applicant must obtain the certificate from the local resident registration office. The cost for the certificate is not reimbursable. Non-U.S. citizen family members, except German citizens are exempt from this requirement.
* Upon appointment with the U.S. Forces it is required to present two valid picture identifications to get access to the computer systems. Recognized documents are only: Personal ID (Personalausweis), Personal Travel Identification (Reisepass) and the European Union (EU) Driver's License (plastic card format). We recommend ensuring at the time of application that at least two of these documents are available or requested.
* Foreign National Screening (Sicherheitsüberprüfung): In accordance with U.S. Army Europe Regulation 604-1, within three days after appointment, a background check will be initiated to determine suitability for continued employment with the U. S. Forces in Germany. If results are unacceptable, employment will be terminated during the probationary period, or any time thereafter, if the background checks reveal that the employee constitutes a security risk.
