To drive this development forward, the European SEAFAIRER funding project is operating and optimizing a promising new vertical pyrolysis technology for converting biogenic residues into high-quality energy sources such as bio-coal, hydrogen-rich synthesis gases, and valuable bio-crude oils. The subject area of this thesis is the construction and commissioning of the VINTER250 demonstration pyrolysis plant, as well as the implementation of initial test campaigns within the framework of the SEAFAIERER project.
