Your Responsibilities
* Design and optimize parts and assemblies for injection molding
* Work with injection molding, CNC parts and rapid prototyping suppliers
* Apply design-for-manufacturing principles to ensure efficient, scalable production
* Incorporate safety and reliability into all designs
* Develop and evaluate electrical and mechanical connector/contact solutions
* Optimize for lightweight design, balancing strength, cost, and manufacturability
* Contribute to aerodynamic concepts, propeller/propulsion systems, battery systems, and lightweight cooling solutions
* Build and test mechanical prototypes using CNC milling, 3D printing, and other methods
* Perform simulations and analyze test data/logfiles to improve designs
* Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers for material and component sourcing
* Work closely with electronics and firmware engineers to deliver integrated systems
* Support flight operations, flight testing, system validation, system maintenance and manufacturing
Your Profile
* Creative mind, out-of-the-box thinking
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
* Experience in designing for injection molding and rapid prototyping
* Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
* Understanding of design-for-safety and design-for-reliability principles
* Familiarity with electrical/mechanical connector solutions
* Experience making lightweight, robust and reliable structures
* Mechanical prototyping skills (CNC machining, 3D printing, etc.)
* Experience sourcing parts and working with external suppliers
* Experience with simulations and logfile analysis
* Structured and transparent way of solving your challenges, using JIRA, Slack, and other tools
* Drone knowledge and hands-on experience is a plus. You will test fly what you build
* Self-reliant, hands-on, and motivated to see projects through to completion
* Located in the Munich area and willing to work on-site at our office in Gilching
* Willingness to travel is a plus. Our shows fly on all continents
