Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial leader with a growth mindset to join our team as the Managing Director, JBP for Nielsen in EMEA. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth and exceeding sales targets across the region focussing on Broadcasters, Publishers and Industry Committees. Your main responsibility will be to lead a high-performing team, develop and execute an effective sales strategy, and build strong relationships with the largest Broadcasters and Publishers across EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
* Accountable for achieving revenue targets for the broadcasters, publishers and industry committees business in EMEA.
* Own and execute a sales strategy for the JBP business in EMEA.
* Lead and inspire the JBP sales team to exceed the sales targets.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the EMEA commercial team, post-sales servicing, customer success, marketing, product, and finance, to align sales efforts with company objectives.
* Identify new business opportunities and develop strong partnerships to expand Nielsen’s presence and market share amongst brands in EMEA.
* Build and maintain relationships with key clients including broadcasters, publishers and industry committees, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring client satisfaction.
* Keep up to date with market trends, competition, and customer needs to identify areas for growth and innovation.
* Forecast sales performance, track progress and provide regular updates to the GM, EMEA.
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, preferably in the media, data, or analytics industry. With at least 5 years of managing a team across regions.
* Track record of successfully driving sales growth and exceeding revenue targets across EMEA region.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in managing and leading a media sales team, with a proven ability to mentor and inspire individuals to achieve.
* Established network of senior relationships within the media industry, including Broadcasters, Publishers and Industry Committees across the EMEA region with a particular focus on the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Middle East.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional European languages are a big plus.
* Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to drive decision making and optimise sales performance.
* Strong business acumen and proven experience of strong negotiation and presentation skills.
* Comfortable presenting to and negotiating with c-level executives.
* Ability to navigate complex businesses and manage multiple projects with both short and long sales cycles.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced international commercial environment.
* Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
