Key responsibilities:
* Develop and lead the European transportation strategy, including contracting models, carrier mix, sourcing approaches, and long-term network design.
* Own the full lifecycle of transport contracting across Europe: tenders, renewals, negotiations, SLAs, rate structures, and governance.
* Lead negotiations with carriers, brokers, and 3PL/4PL partners.
* Analyze transportation flows, capacity, constraints, and costs; identify optimization levers such as lane consolidation, routing, load design, utilization improvements, and intermodal solutions for implementation with the greater operations team.
* Partner with operations and planning teams to improve order‑to‑delivery processes, allocation logic, and load‑building practices.
* Influence stakeholders to adopt new processes and deliver targeted cost savings, service improvements, and ESG outcomes.
* Provide structured updates, executive storytelling, and decision-ready materials for senior leadership.
* Lead and develop teams, including managing managers and directing frontline transportation activities
We expect:
* Several years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or consulting, with a strong European footprint.
* Deep expertise in European road freight markets; intermodal knowledge is a strong plus.
* Proven track record in network optimization, analytics, process design, or operational transformation.
* Strong experience in transport contracting, procurement, or carrier management.
* Experience as a people manager, including managing managers.
* Fluent in English.
* Advanced analytical skills, including Excel and data modeling, with the ability to translate insights into action.
* Familiarity with TMS platforms and digital transport solutions.
