Overview
Join our innovative Multimedia Technologies team as a Principal Scientist, Video Coding, at Nokia. Develop cutting-edge video coding algorithms to improve compression efficiency and drive next-gen user experiences. Engage in hands-on research, contribute to publications, participate in standardization efforts, and support technology transfer.
Responsibilities
* Develop novel video coding algorithms and solutions for next-generation codecs to improve compression efficiency and enable new user experiences.
* Participate in hands-on research and contribute to standardization.
* Initiate and develop research ideas and contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, publications, and intellectual property.
Qualifications
* At least a Master’s degree; PhD preferred.
* Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in algorithm development for video coding.
* Strong background in image and/or video signal processing and compression, including current video coding standards such as HEVC and VVC.
* Strong mathematical and theoretical skills.
Nice to have
* Experience with international standardization is a significant benefit.
* Track record of patents and publications in video/image processing and compression.
* Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in English, with excellent technical writing skills in English.
* Knowledge of 360-degree video/image processing.
