Responsibilities
1. Operate and maintain the LC/MS system (UHPLC- Orbitrap) for the analysis of plant and soil samples.
2. Optimize sample preparation, analytical conditions, and data processing workflows for metabolite and compound analyses (un-/targeted).
3. Support metabolomics projects from sample intake to data reporting.
4. Perform data acquisition, processing, and interpretation using appropriate software tools.
5. Coordinate and guide the daily work of a dedicated technician supporting the metabolomics lab workflow.
6. Ensure accurate documentation of protocols, measurements, and maintenance activities.
7. Advise internal stakeholders on the opportunities and limitations of metabolomic approaches and team-up for solution developments.
Profile
8. M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field; PhD is a plus.
9. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in LC/MS analytics, including sample extraction, method development, and data analysis.
10. Deep understanding of metabolomics in plant, soil and/or rhizosphere systems.
11. Experienced with large-scale data processing.
12. Strong organizational and project management skills.
13. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
14. Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic research environment.
15. Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus.
