We are looking for a R&D Scientist (m/f/d) to complete our team in Bremen or Athens.
Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten
The R&D Scientist will be responsible for research and development in the field of fast ion detection and signal digitalization as used in time-of-flight mass spectrometers
Main tasks:
1. Develop and optimize the ion detection and signal processing for time-of-flight mass spectrometers
2. Participation in research and development of the Bruker time-of-flight instrument R&D

Innovate Identify and explore new ion detection hardware and digital processing technologiesDrive innovation both internally and with key suppliersStay part of the research community by networking and dedicated business trips Develop expertise and fundamental understanding through building models, using ion optical and electronic simulations matching experimental dataStrengthen our IP by identifying ideas and submitting them for patent application
4. ProductizeDesign, perform and supervise experiments to qualify solutions and evaluate resultsExecute our R&D process to transfer innovation into revenue with mature products Back up design transfer to production and provide 3rd level support internally and to customers
Qualifikationen
5. Diploma or PhD in Physics or Electronics, or corresponding qualification
6. Background and hands-on experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation, ideally time-of-flight
7. Background and hands-on in electronics, ideally with RF, transmission lines, waveguides
8. Programming experience using Python, LabVIEW or C#
9. Ion and electronic simulations using COMSOL, SPICE or SIMION are a plus
10. Analytic, logical and innovative thinking
11. Good communication skills, team-mindedness
12. Self-organized, accurate and result oriented working style
13. Solid scientific English language skills; fluent in spoken and written English
14. Fluent German language skills would be an advantage
