Your contribution: This position is responsible for the electronic design and development of battery management and ultra-capacitor systems. It involves design, testing, and verification activities to ensure all requirements and development processes are satisfied for current and future projects.
The role is based in Hannover, Germany.
Key Responsibilities: What you will do
* Review customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory standards, and internal design guidelines to establish product electrical requirements.
* Perform requirement analysis and validation planning activities in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.
* Conduct design verification activities such as engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, DFMEAs, validation testing, and reporting in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.
* Create core and customer electronic circuit designs covering analog, digital, micro-controller architecture, and power supplies.
* Generate technical requirements for electrical architecture and electrical circuit design, including components and sub-assemblies like PCBA, contactors, fans, temperature sensors, Flex PCBs, and other electrical hardware.
* Develop hardware/software interface specifications and electronic test software requirements, collaborating closely with the embedded software engineering team.
* Proficient in electronic design and development tools, including schematic capture, layout, analysis, and simulation.
* Design and test for vehicle-level electrical and electromagnetic performance per customer requirements. Optimize electrical system design to balance cost, performance, mass, volume, and energy efficiency.
* Review electrical design analyses and test results to support design verification. Define test setups, plans, and execute tests for electrical circuits and components.
* Evaluate Engineering Change Requests and Orders for completeness.
* Lead technical investigations and resolve electrical component and circuit issues.
* Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure components meet specifications. Participate in project teams with other engineering disciplines.
* Work independently, managing tasks and responsibilities efficiently, while performing some tasks under guidance.
Qualification and experience: What we look for
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* At least 5 years of professional engineering experience in related fields
* Experience with schematic capture tools like Altium
* Experience with electronic circuit debugging, testing, and simulation tools
* Experience with requirement management tools like Doors or Jama
* OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with powertrain systems/components is desirable
* Experience with Lithium-Ion battery systems is desirable
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Fluency in English is required; German is strongly desirable (B2 level preferred)
