About the role
We are currently searching for a CategoryManagement Leadfor Carrier Climate Solutions Europewho willbe responsible forleading strategic sourcingin this region,managing over ~$1.5bn yearly spending,whileleadinga team of 20 category managers across Europeand reporting to the Head of Procurement.We therefore seek an individual with strong influentialleadership skills, the ability to thrive and remain resilient in dynamic environments and execute their tasks with high precision focus.This role can be filled in various of our locations across Europe.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy & Target Achievement:Develop and execute a globally alignedcategorystrategy andlong‑rangeplan within the region, as well as deliver category targets across cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.Align with cross‑functional stakeholders (R&D, Product Lines, Quality, Operations) and regional/global category counterparts to ensure consistent strategy deployment
2. Supplier Management & Development:Drive end‑to‑endsuppliermanagementanddevelopmentwhile securingcontractual requirementsand run continuous, data‑driven negotiations to achieve above‑market conditions.Additionally leadingtechnical and commercial cost optimization through innovationandmonitoringglobal procurement markets, trends, and indices
3. Risk Management & Supply Continuity:Identifyand mitigate supply riskby buildingresiliency via multi‑sourcing, safety stock, and alternates, as well as partneringwith Quality and Operations on prevention and recovery actions
4. Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing (ESG):Integrate ESG requirements into sourcing decisionsand drive supplier sustainability improvements
5. Digital Procurement & Analytics:Champion e‑sourcing, e‑auctions, analytics, and dashboards,as well as leverage cost models and market intelligence
6. New Product Introduction (NPI) Enablement:Ensure early supplier involvementand guide NPI/NPD sourcing to meet targets
7. Team Leadership:Provide functional and disciplinary leadership, develop and growtheteam,whileensuring a consistent pipeline of talents, and promote best practices as well asstandardized ways of working
Requirements:
8. Master's degree within engineering,businessor an equivalent field
9. 15+ years leadership experience in comparable roles
10. Strong communicationskills and ability to lead by influence, as well as change‑management & transformation leadership skills
11. Experience in executive stakeholder management
12. Ability to navigate in a complexity driven environment with an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, andfinancial acumen
