Business Consultant (German-speaking)
Role Overview
As a Business Consultant, you play a key role in leading and delivering complex IT implementations for our clients. You combine a strong IT consulting background with excellent stakeholder management skills and a hands-on mindset. You work closely with clients, internal delivery teams, and developers to ensure successful Go-Lives, long-term adoption, and measurable business value.
Beyond client delivery, you will actively strengthen and professionalize our consulting capability. We have deep industry experts, and your role is to help us scale consulting best practices internally and externally, raising the bar on methodology, delivery quality, and client engagement.
This role requires prior experience in IT consulting and professional-level German language skills.
AI-first mindset: We are heavily experimenting with AI to improve delivery quality, consultant effectiveness, and the client experience. Consultants are encouraged to actively apply, test, and help shape how AI is embedded into our consulting approach.
What You Will Do
* Lead and support end-to-end implementations of enterprise software solutions across multiple client business units.
* Act as the primary consultant and trusted advisor for clients during implementation and post go-live phases.
* Define implementation scope together with the client, including business units, processes, interfaces, and milestones.
* Translate business requirements into clear and actionable IT and functional requirements.
* Facilitate and lead workshops, meetings, and calls with business and technical stakeholders.
* Coordinate closely with software developers and internal teams to ensure delivery on time, in full, and within budget.
* Support system configuration activities, including user setup and data migration (historic and master data).
* Deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions to ensure client self-sufficiency and long-term adoption.
* Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
* After go-live, remain closely engaged with clients to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and maximize ROI.
* Act as an internal ambassador for your clients, balancing customer satisfaction with commercial outcomes.
Mandatory Requirements
* Proven consulting background in IT (e.g. IT consulting, technology consulting, digital transformation, ERP implementation).
* 3–5+ years of relevant professional experience across IT consulting, internal IT, software implementation, business analysis, or comparable roles. Not all experience must be in consulting, but demonstrable exposure to client-facing consulting environments and project-based delivery is required.
* Professional fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
* Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to enterprise software or ERP implementations.
* Strong ability to translate business needs into IT and functional requirements.
* University Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a closely related field.
* Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate or involve stakeholders.
* Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
* Willingness to travel on average every other week for a few days at a time, including client sites across Europe and the Rotterdam office.
* Strong awareness of information security and the ability to work within established security frameworks.
Nice to Have
* Background in management consulting or strategy consulting with a strong IT focus.
* Project Management or PMO certifications.
* Experience in the rail, logistics, or transportation industry.
* Knowledge of IT implementation strategies and system integration.
* Experience working in scale-up or fast-growing environments.

Important note on working style: This role involves intensive project work, regular travel, and periods of work outside standard office hours. It is not a 9–5 role and best suits professionals who thrive in fast-paced consulting environments and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
