This role involves preparing (mainly using outside counsel), maintaining, defending, and enforcing intellectual property rights for the Life Science Research Division. This position reports to the Chief IP Counsel and is part of the IP department located in Wetzlar or Mannheim and will be an on-site role.Prepare mainly (using outside counsel), maintain, and enforce patents in the areas of assays, dyes, reagents, and related imaging technologies.A qualification as National and European Patent Attorney or even as US patent attorney is a preference .A Phd degree is preferred but not necessary.Strong intellectual property experience, including hands-on experience in prosecuting patents throughout at least Europe and the US.Must be able to speak and write in English at an advanced level.Proven experience in disputes pertaining US patents in the relevant fieldExperience in developing and implementing IP strategies within the life sciences sector.Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
