About this PhD opportunity
This is a fully-funded PhD position in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to investigate the application of AI, specifically Generative AI, in supporting the effective mitigation of cyber-threats.
The successful candidate will conduct research on optimising retrieval-augmented Large Language Models (LLMs) to identify and categorise sensitive information from diverse OSINT sources.
Key tasks include:
* Data analysis and processing: Conduct research on retrieving and augmenting LLM systems to extract relevant information from diverse data sources
* Solution development: Develop an on-premise solution that transforms diverse data sources into concise, actionable reports
* Integration and monitoring: Contribute to the implementation of a continuous monitoring platform that integrates with MISP for standardised threat intelligence sharing
* Project collaboration: Participate in project reporting, dissemination of results, and meetings with our partners
Your profile
* A Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field
* Knowledge and/or experience in one or several of the following areas:
o Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning algorithms and architectures
o Cybersecurity
o Strong programming skills
* Bonus qualifications: Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), familiarity with containerisation and orchestration like Docker and Kubernetes, knowledge of Linux environments
* Motivated candidate who can work independently and is proactive in solving problems
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish will be appreciated but is not a requirement
