Mid-Level Analyst / Geospatial Specialist

Join Synertex LLC and support mission-critical analytic and geospatial operations in a dynamic theater environment. We are seeking a Mid-Level Analyst / Geospatial Specialist to deliver research, analytic production, and GIS-enabled operational mapping in support of security cooperation and campaign assessments.
This role is ideal for a strong analyst who pairs research and writing expertise with advanced geospatial visualization skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct research and data collection from open-source, classified, and collaborative platforms to support analytic products and deliverables
* Draft reports, summaries, information papers, briefing materials, and talking points for Government review
* Prepare data inputs for Monthly Status Reports (MSR), Project Management Plan (PMP) updates, and Final Technical Reports (FTR)
* Produce geospatial visualizations, operational maps, and map overlays supporting assessments, briefings, and planning products
* Conduct spatial trend and pattern analysis across the AOR to identify geographic correlations in partner operations, threat activity, and resource allocation
* Develop and maintain geospatial datasets, layers, and geodatabases; ensure data accuracy, currency, and compliance with applicable standards
* Create map products supporting SFA resource allocation analysis, ISR coverage assessment, and medical team placement optimization
* Produce regional situational awareness products including base maps, operational overlays, event/incident mapping, and written situational updates
* Maintain tracking databases, tasker logs, and deliverable repositories; ensure version control and archival compliance
* Support working group coordination, including agenda development, note-taking, action item tracking, and after-action documentation
* Integrate geospatial data and spatial analysis into multi-source analytic reports and assessment products
* Collaborate with the Data Analyst / Assessment Specialist to incorporate spatial data into MOE/MOP frameworks and dashboards
* Assist senior analysts with research, source verification, and production of intelligence and assessment products
* Perform quality control and compliance review of draft deliverables before submission
* Manage task tracker and deliverable schedules; flag at-risk items to the Lead
* Prepare presentation materials, graphics, geospatial products, and formatted products for executive briefings
* Respond to ad hoc geospatial production and analytic support requests from Government stakeholders
* Support environmental scanning and threat assessment with geospatial context (terrain, infrastructure, borders, key sites)
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in geography, geospatial science, GIS, political science, international relations, intelligence studies, or a related field
* Minimum 3-6 years of combined experience in research/analysis and geospatial analysis, with at least 2 years supporting DoD, IC, or Federal Government contracts
* Proficiency with ArcGIS (ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro) including spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and cartographic production
* Strong research and writing skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise products
* Experience producing operational maps, overlays, and geospatial visualization products for military or intelligence customers
* Familiarity with common geospatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, KML/KMZ, GeoTIFF) and coordinate reference systems
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and familiarity with collaboration tools
* Experience maintaining databases, trackers, documentation repositories, and geospatial datasets
* Strong attention to detail and cartographic design skills; ability to produce publication-quality map products
* Active Top Secret / SCI clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree in GIS, geography, geospatial intelligence, international relations, or a related field
* Experience supporting USAFRICOM, a Geographic Combatant Command, TSOC, or similar DoD operational headquarters
* Proficiency with ArcGIS Online, QGIS, Google Earth Pro, or other complementary GIS platforms
* Familiarity with DoD reporting formats (MSR, FTR, SITREP) and program management deliverables
* Knowledge of Africa-region security dynamics, geography, partner force operations, or security cooperation programs
* Familiarity with Python scripting for GIS automation (ArcPy, GeoPandas)
* Experience integrating GIS data with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools for combined geospatial-statistical products
* Experience with remote sensing, imagery analysis, or GEOINT production
* Training in analytic writing, intelligence production standards, or structured analytic techniques
* Experience with SharePoint site administration or knowledge management platforms
