We are seeking a VP of Cloud Engineering to lead the next stage of Qdrant Cloud’s evolution.
Tasks
The Role
As VP of Cloud Engineering, you will define and execute the strategy for Qdrant Cloud and Enterprise Product. You will lead distributed engineering teams responsible for infrastructure, platform, SRE, DevOps, security, and reliability.
You will be accountable for delivering a secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient managed service that meets enterprise-grade expectations while preserving the performance and flexibility that define Qdrant.
This is both a strategic and hands‑on leadership role in a high‑growth environment.
Strategy & Vision
Define and own the technical vision and roadmap for Qdrant Cloud
Scale the platform to support enterprise workloads and global deployments
Drive multi‑cloud and cloud‑native architecture decisions
Ensure strong alignment between Cloud Engineering, Core Engineering, Product, and Go‑To‑Market teams
Platform & Infrastructure Leadership
Lead infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering teams
Architect for high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and performance
Oversee Kubernetes‑based orchestration and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Improve CI/CD, release engineering, and operational excellence
Reliability, Security & Compliance
Establish best‑in‑class reliability practices (SLOs, SLAs, observability, incident response)
Lead cloud security initiatives and enterprise compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
Build a strong DevSecOps culture and processes
Cost & Performance Optimization
Optimize cloud cost efficiency at scale
Implement strong FinOps practices
Balance performance, reliability, and infrastructure spend
Leadership & Organizational Growth
Hire, mentor, and scale a high‑performing cloud engineering organization
Develop engineering managers and technical leaders
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence
Drive cross‑functional execution with product and sales teams
Requirements
Experience
10+ years in engineering leadership, including senior roles in cloud/platform engineering
Experience building and scaling B2B SaaS platforms
Proven track record in managing distributed teams
Deep experience with Kubernetes and cloud‑native architectures
Experience operating high‑scale, production‑critical infrastructure
Experience with enterprise security and compliance frameworks
Technical Depth
Strong background in distributed systems
Experience running large‑scale infrastructure in AWS/GCP/Azure
Deep knowledge of observability, reliability engineering, and automation
Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code
Leadership Traits
Strategic thinker who can also dive deep technically
Strong decision‑making in high‑growth, fast‑changing environments
Clear communicator across technical and business stakeholders
Data‑driven and customer‑focused
Nice to Have
Experience with search engines, databases, storage systems, or data infrastructure
