About the Role
As a Category Specialist – Automotive Semiconductors, you will manage global supplier relationships, drive cost optimization, and align sourcing strategies with HARMAN’s product and technology roadmaps.
In this role, you will combine strategic sourcing responsibilities with a strong focus on operational and organizational execution, working closely with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, international environment. This makes the position ideal for professionals who enjoy both commercial impact and strong ownership in day-to-day execution.
This position is well suited for candidates with initial experience in semiconductor procurement or electronics sourcing—gained through professional roles or internships / working student positions - who are looking to grow into a strategic role while actively supporting business operations. It is also a strong entry point for high-potential early-career candidates seeking exposure to both strategic sourcing and executive-level coordination.
What You Will Do
Strategic & Procurement Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for semiconductor categoriesSupport and progressively take ownership of supplier negotiations, contract management, and capacity planningCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D to align sourcing with product roadmapsManage RFx processes and supplier performance reviews QBRs)Contribute to cost optimization and design-to-cost initiativesLeverage digital procurement tools and analytics to enhance sourcing efficiency and transparencyOperational & Coordination Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings, workshops, and cross-functional alignment sessionsManage calendars, scheduling, and travel planning for senior stakeholders in a structured and efficient wayPrepare presentations, meeting materials, and follow-up documentationSupport communication and coordination across global teams and with suppliersMaintain structure and transparency in projects through documentation and trackingWhat You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related fieldInitial experience in procurement, electronics, or semiconductors (industry experience or through internships / working student roles)Strong interest in semiconductor markets and supply chainsProven ability to work in a structured, reliable, and highly organized wayAbility to balance strategic topics with hands-on operational executionStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsBonus Points if You Have
Experience in an automotive Tier 1 or OEM environmentFamiliarity with infotainment systems, ADAS, or vehicle connectivity platformsKnowledge of semiconductor lifecycle management and obsolescence planningExperience supporting senior stakeholders or coordinating complex topicsWhat Makes You Eligible
