About the Tent Partnership for Refugees:

With more and more refugees displaced around the world for longer periods of time, businesses play a critical role in helping refugees integrate economically in their new communities. The Tent Partnership for Refugees was launched in 2016 by Hamdi Ulukaya, the CEO and founder of Chobani – a multibillion-dollar food company in the U.S. – to mobilize leading businesses to help connect refugees to work. Today, Tent is a global network of over 500 major companies committed to hiring, training, and mentoring refugees. Find out more at www.tent.org.

About the role:

Germany plays a central role in Europe’s ability to turn refugee integration into sustainable, long-term employment. Tent is seeking a senior leader to build and lead its work in Germany, with a mandate to shape how major employers, public institutions, and civil society collaborate to expand access to jobs for refugees.

As Country Director, Germany, you will lead Tent’s strategy and presence in the country. You will work directly with senior business leaders to design and scale refugee hiring initiatives, build trusted relationships with key government and NGO stakeholders, and represent Tent publicly as a credible, pragmatic voice on refugee employment.

This role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and influence, supported by close collaboration with Tent’s European and global teams. It is well-suited to a leader with strong relationship-building, strategic, and organizational skills, and experience in business-led social impact, diversity and inclusion, or initiatives supporting underrepresented communities.

The Country Director will also drive strategy development and fundraising efforts in Germany. Fluency in German and English is required.

Key responsibilities:

Tent Germany Coalition Management

* Lead and grow Tent’s coalition of employer partners in Germany, with a focus on expanding and improving refugee hiring outcomes. Facilitate collaboration and best-practice sharing among Tent member companies to promote effective, scalable practices.
* Work closely with member companies to support the design, implementation, and measurement of refugee hiring, training, and mentoring initiatives.
* Build and expand strategic partnerships with business associations and chambers of commerce to strengthen private sector commitments in refugee employment

Government & NGO Relationship Management

* Build and maintain strategic partnerships with international organizations, local NGOs, and foundations to strengthen pathways from refugee services to employment.
* Lead engagement with senior government and public sector stakeholders, to advance Tent’s mission and position Tent as a trusted partner in Germany
* Lead and develop a small team of junior staff

Public Relations, Advocacy & Fundraising

* Represent Tent in Germany as a credible public voice on refugee integration, engaging with senior stakeholders, partners, and German media
* Shape and advance advocacy priorities in Germany in close collaboration with Tent´s European communication team
* Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan with specific and measurable goals and objectives
* Contribute to and lead fundraising efforts in Germany, building relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and donors, in coordination with Tent’s European and global development teams

What we are looking for:

Tent Culture

At Tent, every team member is guided by five core principles — DOERS — that define not just what we do, but how we do it. These principles are the behavioral foundation of our team, and we look for them in everyone who joins us.

* Dedicated to Our Mission — You are genuinely invested in refugee economic integration. You take ownership of your work and go beyond your role when the mission requires it.
* Obsessed with Impact — You act with urgency and tenacity, and take personal accountability for results. You dont stop at effort — you care about what actually gets done.
* Excellent in Execution — You operate at the highest standards in everything you do. You bring precision and follow-through to your work and hold yourself to a bar that goes beyond what is required.
* Relentless at Improving — You proactively identify better ways of working and dont wait to be told to iterate. You are open to feedback and actively seek it.
* Stronger through Collaboration — You thrive in team environments, communicate openly, and build trust with colleagues and external partners alike.

* Bachelor’s degree
* Bilingual fluency in German and English
* 15+ years of senior professional experience across multinational companies, NGOs, foundations, public institutions, and business-facing social impact organizations
* Demonstrated leadership experience, including building, leading, and developing teams.
* Strong track record of building and managing senior level partnerships across the private and/or public sector, ideally linked to CSR, DEI, ESG
* Solid knowledge of political, economic, and institutional context, ideally as it relates to the integration of refugees and migrants in Germany
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the credibility to influence and engage with senior business and public-sector stakeholders
* Ability to oversee multiple initiatives and drive execution in a dynamic, externally facing environment, with willingness to travel within Germany and internationally as needed

Preferred Skills / Experience

* Master’s degree
* Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) is a plus
