As Category Owner Lenses (f/m/d), you play a key role in shaping and advancing our lenses portfolio. With your deep understanding of optical products, your awareness of market and technology trends, and your ability to translate complex topics into clear guidance for different stakeholders, you ensure that Fielmann is perceived as a leading player in the lenses category. Through close collaboration with Innovation & Technology, Sales HQ and our stores, you prepare well-founded product decisions, drive the strategic development of the category and ensure transparent knowledge transfer across the organization. In this role, you make a significant contribution to strengthening our customer experience and securing the future of our product offering.
What awaits you. Your responsibilities.
* Develop and implement a strategic development plan and clear guidelines for the Lenses category.
* Build and steer the overall strategic framework for the category, including product and partner portfolio design.
* Take end-to-end ownership of the category – from concept and sourcing through launch, lifecycle management and end-of-life – ensuring an excellent customer experience, high quality and sustainable growth.
* Provide expert guidance on category management, including make-or-buy decisions, procurement, sales activities and strategic partner management.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute the category strategy and turn insights into concrete actions across channels.
* Lead the creation and evolution of the lenses portfolio by using data and customer insights to understand customer behavior, defining product requirements and pricing strategy
* Develop long-term strategies for the lenses category, including role definitions, exit strategies for underperforming products and continuous portfolio optimization.
* Select and manage key global supplier relationships, build strong internal stakeholder relationships and proactively challenge the status quo to drive innovation and profitability.

* 3–5 years of professional experience in the optical industry – ideally in store management or training, or in a comparable role in product development, product management or product lifecycle management (PLM).
* Strong expertise in ophthalmic lenses, including lens technologies, manufacturers, materials and production processes.
* Solid understanding of retail workflows, customer needs and store operations; experience from a store or academy environment is a strong advantage.
* Ability to translate complex technical topics into simple, clear guidance for different internal stakeholders.
* Strong communication, coordination and project management skills, with confidence in working with senior stakeholders.
* Hands-on mindset, high service orientation and strong enthusiasm for innovation and technology.
* Experience in supplier relationship management and strategic procurement is a plus.
* Business-fluent English and German.
