Job Description
We’re looking for a Germany Country Lead – EHS / Sustainability, either as an individual or a small team. You will be building our presence in Germany, taking the reins of a global firm’s expansion into one of Europe’s most influential markets. This role offers the autonomy to shape strategy, supported by a global network, and a platform to make a lasting impact.

* Environmental Investigation & Remediation Services
* ESG & EHS Digital Solutions
* Product Stewardship & Liability Consulting
* Safety Consulting Services
* Toxicology Consulting Services
* Sustainability & ESG Services
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and grow J.S. Held’s presence in Germany, setting the vision and strategy for our EHS / Sustainability services.
* Represent the firm in the German market, building trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and industry leaders.
* Identify market opportunities, develop service offerings, and lead business development efforts to build a robust client portfolio.
* Oversee and contribute to high-impact consulting engagements, ensuring quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
* Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
* Work closely with international colleagues to align local initiatives with global strategy and share best practices across borders.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in a top-tier consulting firm, with a strong track record in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Sustainability, or related services.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and leading teams.
* Proven ability to win and deliver complex consulting engagements, preferably with a portable book of business.
* Deep understanding of the consulting environment in Germany, including client expectations, regulatory frameworks, and competitive dynamics.
* Well-connected within the German market, with an existing network of clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* A strategic thinker capable of identifying market opportunities, shaping service offerings, and leading long-term growth initiatives.
* A self-starter who excels at building new practices, teams, and client relationships from scratch.
* Fluent in English and German, with the ability to operate effectively in both local and international business contexts.
