Phd human body models for equitable safety of occupants (f/m/x)

We offer you an exciting and varied doctoral position in the field of passive vehicle safety, with a primary emphasis on crash scenarios. A key aspect involves conducting detailed finite element simulations (full vehicle simulations), which generate vast amounts of complex data. These simulations provide critical insights into vehicle behavior during collisions and form the foundation of our safety assessments.

What awaits you?

* Conduct comprehensive analysis and review of population based crash relevant data.
* Develop and framework of how population based assessment could work in the context of occupant safety and CAE simulation.
* Research state of the art possibilities pertaining to scaling and morphing of Human Body Models (HBMs).
* Collaborate closely with the department’s experts in passive vehicle safety to validate and refine the model and application.
* Present research findings in scientific journals and conferences, contributing to advancements in vehicle passive safety and data-driven modeling.

What should you bring along?

* Master in Biomechanics, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering or Mathematics.
* Strong background in mechanics, with experience in stochastics. Preferably, experience human anthropometry data.
* Familiarity with programming languages and tools for data processing, model development, and integration (e.g., Python, TensorFlow).
* Ability to work with large-scale simulation databases and extract relevant data.
* Creativity and innovation to explore novel approaches and extend existing methods.
* Business fluent English, German language skills are a plus.
