At Molex, we enable global connectivity by developing advanced high-speed connectivity solutionsfor automotive electrical architectures worldwide.As a SeniorProductDevelopmentEngineer in our Connected Mobility Solutions Networking group, you will lead the design and development of next-generation high-speedconnectors, ensuring top performance, cost-effectiveness, andtimelydelivery through global collaboration and technicalexpertise.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead end-to-end design and development of automotive high-speed connectors, meeting industry standards and customer needs.
2. Collaborate across global teams (signal integrity, manufacturing, program management, sales, validation) to align goals.
3. Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate designs.
4. Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost in partnership with manufacturing.
5. Create and update detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
6. Identify innovative solutions to enhance performance, reliability, and quality.
7. Engage with customers and suppliers to capture requirements and resolve challenges.
8. Troubleshoot complex engineering issues.
9. Monitor industry trends in automotive connectivity and high-speed data transmission.
10. Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
11. Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
12. Support manufacturing and quality teams during product launches; travel as needed.
Basic Qualifications
13. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science
14. 5+ years design/product development experience (preferably automotive connectors)
15. Languages: Native German and Professional Working English
16. Experience designing precision injection-molded plastic components
17. Familiarity withautomotive RF sealed and unsealed connector systems: coax, mini-coax, differential pair, shielded twisted pair, unshielded twisted pair, etc.
18. Advanced CAD skills: Solid modeling (Siemens NX, Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks; NX preferred)
19. Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred)
20. Advanced Knowledge of DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DVP validation
21. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
22. Knowledge of automotive connector standards and specifications
23. Adept at providing weekly or monthly status reporting to manager, cross-functional team,and leadershipteam

Preferred Qualifications
31. Experience with signal integrity, EMI mitigation, or high-speed data
32. Hands-on mechanical, electrical, or environmental testing
33. Proficient performing mechanical FEA (Abaqus)
34. 1+ year mentoring other engineers
